Go to Gutenberg.org and browse. Every title has a Kindle version. Aside from the classics there's all sorts of oddball stuff. Check out "Clayton's Quaker Cook Book," 1883.
Or "THE Art of Iugling or Legerdemaine. Wherein is deciphered, all the conueyances of Legerdemaine and Iugling," etc. 1612.
"Devil in the White City" - Erik Larson.
ReplyDelete"Just Kids" - Patti Smith
Any of Terry Pratchett's Discworld Novels (light, and very, very funny satire.)
ReplyDelete"Descent into Hell" by Charles Williams (where hell becomes a metaphor for psychosis), a lot heavier, but really kind of interesting.
